Red Rock Canyon

Red Cap Peak, also called Turtlehead Junior, is the highest peak in the Calico Hills. This hike is made up of delicious colorful sandstone peaks and outcrops in the eastern section of Red Rock Canyon. Most of Red Cap is composed of white sandstone, but the summit has a cap of red sandstone. Red Cap has great views of Red Rock Canyon and the Las Vegas Valley.

Red Rock Canyon NCA spans more than 195,000 acres and is visited by more than two million people each year for its world-class hiking, rock climbing and biking. The Cottonwood Valley Trail System is a network of trails located in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and provides opportunities to experience the best desert mountain biking in Southern Nevada.  Google Map
