Calico Basin

Gateway Canyon Loop, also called Kraft Mountain Loop, loops around Kraft Mountain which borders the north side of Calico Basin. The hike follows Gateway Wash with some easy scrambling, nice boulders and seasonal pools of water.

Calico Basin Recreation Area is a popular rock climbing, hiking destination within the larger Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area that spans 5,700 acres. Fragile and rare springs are found throughout the area, which is filled with giant sandstone formations.
