La Madre Mine

Red Rock Canyon

La Madre Mine is in the La Madre Mountain Wilderness Area. This hike starts with red and white sandstone cliffs on one side and gray limestone mountains on the other. The trail takes you to La Madre Spring where you’ll see water for wildlife and a pleasant contrast with the desert environment. Far Above the springs is rebuilt miner’s cabin and an abandoned mine cut into the mountain above it.

Red Rock Canyon NCA spans more than 195,000 acres and is visited by more than two million people each year for its world-class hiking, rock climbing and biking. The Cottonwood Valley Trail System is a network of trails located in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and provides opportunities to experience the best desert mountain biking in Southern Nevada.  Google Map
