Raintree

Mount Charleston

The Raintree is one of the largest and oldest(around 3,000 years old) bristlecone pine trees in the Spring Mountains! This hike is a fairly strenuous, 2.7 mile section of the North Loop Trail with views of Las Vegas, Kyle Canyon, and surrounding mountains.

The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area is comprised of rugged mountains with towering cliffs, steep hillsides, and deep narrow canyons, which are surrounded by a desert landscape. The area’s elevation ranges from 3,000 feet to 11,918 feet at the top of Charleston Peak which creates a variety of climate and vegetation zones including some 18,000 acres of Bristlecone pine.  Google Map
