Calico Basin

Greycap is a challenging route situated north of Kraft Mountain and is the highest peak of the Calico Basin. The peak is located within the La Madre Mountain Wilderness Area and gets its name from a cap of gray limestone that sits atop a ridge of red and white sandstone.

Calico Basin Recreation Area is a popular rock climbing, hiking destination within the larger Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area that spans 5,700 acres. Fragile and rare springs are found throughout the area, which is filled with giant sandstone formations. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is one of Southern Nevada’s most popular outdoor recreation destinations.  Google Map
