Kraft Mountain is one of several minor summits in the Calico Basin section of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and offers fun scrambling routes and excellent views of Calico Basin, Blue Diamond Hill and the Las Vegas Valley.

Calico Basin Recreation Area is a popular rock climbing, hiking destination within the larger Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area that spans 5,700 acres. Fragile and rare springs are found throughout the area, which is filled with giant sandstone formations.
