Guardian Angel Pass has distinctive red sandstone formations with its high point offering panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley, Calico Basin, Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and has a hand carved Guardian Angel after descending into Red Rock Cayon.

Calico Basin Recreation Area is a popular rock climbing, hiking destination within the larger Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area that spans 5,700 acres. Fragile and rare springs are found throughout the area, which is filled with giant sandstone formations.
