Calico Tanks Peak trail ventures up a canyon colored in both yellow and red sandstone and seasonally-filled tanks of water in the sandstone hills. The hike has a moderate scramble up sandstone slopes to the peak wich has great veiws of Red Rock Canyon, Calico Basin and the Las Vegas Valley.

Red Rock Canyon NCA spans more than 195,000 acres and is visited by more than two million people each year for its world-class hiking, rock climbing and biking. The Cottonwood Valley Trail System is a network of trails located in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and provides opportunities to experience the best desert mountain biking in Southern Nevada.
