Skull Canyon Trail is part of the Cowboy Trail System located on Blue Diamond Hill, within the boundaries of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Nevada. The Cowboy Trail System is a network of incredible high desert singletrack trails that fork in many directions offering many different rides and hikes with great panoramic views of Red Rock Canyon to the west, the La Madre Mountain Range to the north and Las Vegas to the east. Blue Diamond Hill is also a popular hiking and horseback riding destination and a great spot to take your dog.
The Muffins Trail is a very popular hiking spot which starts just passed the corrals and crosses the desert before it climbs a nice limestone ridge. This canyon splits off the trail to the Muffins and goes up Skull Canyon to the Old Las Vegas Overlook, it’s a nice hike. This trail is also called Bob Gnarly Trail by Mountain Bikers.
