La Madre Miner’s Cabin
La Madre Miner’s Cabin trail starts at the Willow Springs Picnic Area, it follows the White Rock Loop Trail and then splits onto the La Madre Spring Trail.
La Madre miner’s cabin trail is a nice, but dificult hike to the cabin and mine. The cabin was built by miners in the 1920’s, later torn down by vandals and then rebuilt by people who cared. It is a stone cabin with a log roof. The trail to the La Madre miner’s cabin passes through the La Madre Springs which run year round and provides a habitat for marsh vegetation and water for the animals of Red Rock Canyon.
