Brownstone Canyon Archaeological District comprises 2,920 acres and is located in the La Madre Mountain Wilderness Area which cover 47,180 acres. The canyon is filled with both pictographs & petroglyphs, look high on cliffs with desert varnish to see the petroglyphs.
